The thesis comprised the designing of the waste water treatment plant for a Salmon and Trout smolt Farm center enlargement project, which was incresed to the environment lmpact Evaluation System through an environment impact Declaration (EID), this EID was evaluated by all of the govement departments concerned which the environment matters. The present study consist of three stages: 1. In order to determing the treatment efficiency of an actual decanter operating in Australis firm. 2. In order to define the regulations to be applied to a farm center, which rs supplied with spring water. 3. Taking into account this results, an economical study and final design of wastewater treatment plant was done. The design consisted in three process that match with: the technical specifications of the "subsecretaria de Pesca", the recommend dates of the SISS for waste water treatment systems and the norms applied to industrial waste water discharged to surface waters. The first two treatment process were filtration and subsequent decanter, both of them were designed specially to remove 85% of the effluent suspended solids. The third process was in order to accumulate and storage the solids coming from the filtration process. The investment cost of this project in a 1 O years operating basis was evaluated to be US $ 0.0062 per produced smolt per year, taking into account the operating and maintenance cost.
