Efectos de la crianza homoparental : una revisiĆ³n de la experiencia comparada de cara al debate de la adopciĆ³n homoparental en Chile

El presente trabajo busca exponer
de manera resumida los principales hallazgos
de las investigaciones mƔs relevantes que han
centrado su anƔlisis en la crianza homoparental
y las consecuencias que Ć©sta puede tener a
nivel de desarrollo emocional y de la
sexualidad de los niƱos y niƱas. Dada la
carencia de estudios nacionales dedicados a
esta materia, se acude a investigaciones
desarrolladas en paĆses en los que esta temĆ”tica
ha sido objeto de especial atenciĆ³n en las
Ćŗltimas dĆ©cadas. El texto concluye que los
estudios realizados no constatan diferencias
significativas en Ɣreas fundamentales de
desarrollo de los niƱos/niƱas criadas por
familias homoparentales en comparaciĆ³n con
los hijos de familias heteroparentales, como
son el psicolĆ³gico, cognitivo, capacidad de
establecer juicios morales, relaciones sociales,
adaptaciĆ³n y rendimiento acadĆ©mico,
orientaciĆ³n sexual e identidad de gĆ©nero, sin perjuicio de advertirse una mayor posibilidad
de estigmatizaciĆ³n, variable esta Ćŗltima cuyo
origen no aparece determinado por la
orientaciĆ³n sexual de los padres o la
conformaciĆ³n de la familia sino por otros
factores externos y ajenos a Ć©sta,
principalmente el entorno social. Por lo
mismo, se concluye que no existen razones que
justifiquen una diferencia o discriminaciĆ³n
respecto de las parejas homosexuales al
momento de optar a la paternidad o maternidad
a travĆ©s de la adopciĆ³n.
The present work seeks to present in a summarized way the main results of the most relevant investigations that have focused their analysis on homoparental upbringing and the consequences that this can have at the level of emotional development and sexuality of boys and girls. Given the lack of national studies dedicated to this matter, research carried out in countries in which this subject has been the object of special attention in recent decades is used. The text concludes that the studies carried out do not show significant differences in fundamental areas of development of children raised by homoparental families compared to children of heteroparental families, such as psychological, cognitive, ability to establish moral judgments, social relations, adaptation and academic performance, sexual orientation and gender identity, notwithstanding the fact that there is a greater possibility of stigmatization, the latter variable whose origin is not determined by the sexual orientation of the parents or the formation of the family but by other external and unrelated factors to this, mainly the social environment. For this reason, it is concluded that there are no reasons that justify a difference or discrimination with respect to homosexual couples when opting for paternity or maternity through adoption.
