rol profesional cobra vital relevancia.

Methodology: Four professionals were interviewed; they were Occupational Therapists working in institutions within the Region of ValparaĆso, specifically in the centers PAI ProsaĆn Adolescentes Quillota; PAI Riviera ViƱa del Mar; CTA QuilpuĆ©; and PAICA of the Del Salvador hospital in ValparaĆso. After conducting in-depth interviews in relation to the subject, their speeches were analyzed. The information was organized in a analysis matrixes made out of categories and subcategories, from the general to the specific, where the areas of interest were represented (Professional Role - Professional Practices - Gender). Conclusions: There are currently different ways of carrying out interventions, according to each professional, but in most situations both the institutional context and public policies directly influence its approach. This differentiation hinders or facilitates the participation of these young women in their rehabilitation process and their whole participation within our society. Because of this, it becomes necessary to investigate the contextual conditions faced by Occupational Therapists, from an experience perspective. Our research shows that there are sociocultural elements that play an important role in the construction of adolescence, consumption and gender, and highlights the importance of the role of the professional during treatment.
