Resumen
The present bibliographic review on selective gluteus medius activation in traditional exercises applied in hip pathologies, whose general objective was to analyze the literature on the selective activation generated in the gluteus medius a battery of exercises commonly applied in the kinesic rehabilitation program in hip pathologies and as specific objectives to analyze the exercises performed in lateral decubitus, supine decubitus, prone decubitus, four supports, sitting, bipedal for the selective activation of the gluteus medius. This study was carried out between the year 2020 and 2021. The databases which this search has been carried out are; Pubmed, the journal, Elsevier, Lancet, Science, SciELO, NCBI, World Wide Science, PsycNET, in English and Spanish, between the years 2005 -present. Among its inclusion criteria are healthy subjects or with intra or extra-articular hip pathologies, that some exercise is applied to activate the gluteus medius muscles, that an electromyographic analysis is carried out that includes the activation of the gluteus medius and exclusion not having access to full text and that the measures of central tendency and variability are not presented in the statistical analysis. Finally, as a conclusion, it is verified according to this bibliographic review and the objectives set, that the exercise for the gluteus medius in lateral decubitus position (abduction with extended leg), generates greater activation of the gluteus medius (70% of the FIM approx. ), on the other hand, the gluteus medius exercises in bipedal position (pelvic drop), generates greater activation% MVIC 57 Ā± 32 and finally the gluteus medius exercises in supine position, sitting position and four supports, clams with resistance generate the GTA index more high 30.48 +/- 16.66 and no resistance 25.35 +/- 10.39.
