Geology in Chile is commonly associated witch fields such as mining, seismology, or petrology. However, in the last decade, a new field has emerged that has gained importance and interest among different professions and disciplines. This new field values the geological heritage of a place not only for its economic importance but also for its scientific and cultural value. The conservation of geoheritage provides an opportunity to generate a positive impact on communities, provided they become involved, understand, and participate in protection of their environment and local geological sites of interest. In the Biobío region, there are many exemplary places where geology can approach the community through simple dissemination and education on the geological processes that have dominated the area. Therefore, the survey of the geological information in the Arauco Basin is carried out within the framework of pGMLBB, which the aim of zoning places of exceptional geological interest in the commune of Lebu for the development of geoturism activities. A georoute is proposed based on application of the 4-phase parameter evaluation methodology: identification, valuation, hierarchy, and zoning of the geoturism space for nine identified LIGs, three of which have advantage characteristics to tell the last 66 million years of geological history of the commune.
