Abstract
Este artículo analiza el pensamiento de Jean-Jacques Rousseau (1712-1778) a partir de la teoría mimética propuesta por el filósofo, crítico literario e historiador francés René Girard (1923-2015). En tal sentido, cabe sostener que la obra de Rousseau, con especial notoriedad su antropología del amor de sí, presente entre otras obras, en Discurso sobre el origen de la desigualdad entre los hombres (1755), encierra una particular obsesión y temor al mimetismo y sus violentas consecuencias.
The following article aims to develop an analysis of the thought of Jean- Jacques Rousseau (1712-1778) based on the mimetic theory proposed by the French philosopher, literary critic and historian René Girard (1923-2015). In this sense, it can be argued that Rousseau’s work, with special notoriety his anthropology of self-love, present among other works, in A Discourse Upon the Origin and the Foundation of the Inequality Among Mankind (1755), contains a particular obsession and fear mimicry and its violent consequences, as we will try to demonstrate.
