This research work addresses the problems of the Junquillar Wetland, located in San Pedro de la Paz, Biobío Region, which is mainly characterized by not having an analysis or evaluation of its ecotourism potential, in order to have a notion of what tourism resource exists in the place, to know what ecotourism activity could be better to do within this area and to have an information base for better management and administration. In order to carry out this research and address the problem, the Multicriteria Evaluation (MCE) was used, which consists of identifying, categorizing and quantitatively evaluating the natural and sociocultural resources with intrinsic and extrinsic criteria, and then calculating predetermined weights (values) according to each criterion in order to determine which tourism resource has the greatest ecotourism potential in the area. The results of the multi-criteria methodology were 2 tourism resources, 1 natural resource called "Laguna Junquillar" and another socio-cultural resource called "Rincón Espiritual". The one with the highest score, therefore, the one with the greatest ecotourism potential is "Laguna Junquillar" with 6.35 pts, compared to "Rincón Espiritual" with 4.79 pts. The results reflect that Humedal Junquillar lacks tourism resources to have a greater ecotourism potential than it currently has, on the other hand, the lack of administration and little dissemination of this area means that it lacks infrastructure and equipment that could increase its potential. However, with the tourism resources found and the characteristics observed during field trips, ecotourism activities such as bird watching and environmental education could be carried out without any problems.
