La presente investigación está enfocada en el turismo invernal en la comuna de Coyhaique, específicamente en las actividades de montaña en áreas silvestres protegidas del estado (ASPE). La tesis investiga las principales actividades invernales practicadas, la percepción y satisfacción de los participantes, y los desafíos y oportunidades que enfrenta la comunidad local con respecto al turismo invernal y desde el enfoque del ecoturismo. La presente investigación explora el turismo invernal en Coyhaique, centrado en las actividades de montaña en áreas silvestres protegidas del estado (ASPE). Se analizan las actividades invernales más populares, la percepción y satisfacción de los participantes, y los desafíos y oportunidades que enfrenta la comunidad local en el contexto del ecoturismo. Utilizando una metodología mixta, se aplicaron cuestionarios para recoger datos sobre preferencias, frecuencia y seguridad de las actividades invernales, complementados con entrevistas a actores clave para profundizar en los desafíos y oportunidades del turismo invernal. Los temas abordados incluyen la afluencia de practicantes, normativas, riesgos, infraestructura, impacto del cambio climático, estrategias de desarrollo, percepciones comunitarias, sostenibilidad y comparaciones a nivel regional y nacional. El estudio aporta una visión integral del turismo invernal en Coyhaique, destacando aspectos como la seguridad, impacto ambiental, y la perspectiva y participación de la comunidad local. Finalmente, se proponen recomendaciones y estrategias para el desarrollo sostenible de estas actividades, subrayando la importancia de la colaboración multisectorial y un enfoque en prácticas sostenibles
The present research focuses on winter tourism in the Coyhaique commune, specifically on mountain activities in state-protected wild areas (ASPE). The thesis investigates the main winter activities practiced, the perception and satisfaction of participants, and the challenges and opportunities faced by the local community with respect to winter tourism from an ecotourism perspective. This research explores winter tourism in Coyhaique, centered on mountain activities in state-protected wild areas (ASPE). The study analyzes the most popular winter activities, the perception and satisfaction of participants, and the challenges and opportunities that the local community faces in the context of ecotourism. Using a mixed-methods approach, questionnaires were applied to collect data on preferences, frequency, and safety of winter activities, complemented by interviews with key stakeholders to delve deeper into the challenges and opportunities of winter tourism. Topics addressed include the influx of practitioners, regulations, risks, infrastructure, the impact of climate change, development strategies, community perceptions, sustainability, and regional and national comparisons. The study provides a comprehensive view of winter tourism in Coyhaique, highlighting aspects such as safety, environmental impact, and the perspective and participation of the local community. Finally, recommendations and strategies for the sustainable development of these activities are proposed, emphasizing the importance of multisectoral collaboration and a focus on sustainable practices.
