This study considers the importance of citizen participation, especially of women, in environmental groups to address climate change. Objective: To analyze the contribution of women's participation in environmental groups located in the Valparaíso region in the year 2023 Methods: A qualitative methodology with an interpretative phenomenological approach was used to apply it to four women participants in environmental groups, the selection of participants was made through non-probabilistic sampling; and data were collected through semi-structured interviews; Results: After reviewing and coding the results of the interviews, several categories were identified with respect to the contribution of women in environmental groups. Within the categories of analysis, concepts relevant to Occupational Therapy such as Human Occupation, Performance Capacity and Volition were found, while in the emerging categories a series of concepts stood out, multitasking being the most outstanding. Conclusion: The functions performed by women in environmental groups are multifaceted and of diverse complexity. Being part of this space provides them not only with a sense of belonging, but also with soft skills, links with other people and generates a great benefit for the surrounding communities in environmental matters. The need for further research is highlighted in order to deepen certain findings, such as the multiple tasks performed by women, as well as the identification and resolution of associated challenges. It also highlights the importance of further exploring the role of women in creating environmental awareness within the surrounding communities. It is also important to delve deeper into men's perspective on the issue in question.
