Resumen
El presente trabajo de investigación, está formado por seis capítulos, incluyendo la
bibliografía como el capítulo final. En el primer capítulo se comienza con la formulación
general del problema, presentándose la temática referida a cuáles son las
competencias que poseen los tutores clínicos de práctica profesional de la carrera de
Enfermería de la Universidad Nacional Andrés Bello (UNAB), sede Concepción, según
la percepción que tienen los estudiantes de quinto año en cuanto a las competencias
de quienes realizan esta labor docente. Se establecen las preguntas que motivan el
estudio, la fundamentación del problema, los propósitos y objetivos de la investigación.
A continuación se señalan las variables correspondientes, definidas desde lo
conceptual y lo operacional y así poder establecer, entre otras hipótesis de
investigación, si existe relación entre la percepción de los estudiantes sobre las
competencias de sus docentes (evaluado en tres dimensiones: conocimientos,
habilidades y actitudes) y variables como los años de experiencia como tutor clínico, la
presencia y tipo de perfeccionamiento en docencia que posean y la complejidad del
centro de práctica clínica en el que desempeñen su labor profesional y docente. En un segundo capítulo, se expone el marco teórico en el que se realiza la
contextualización de la investigación y el porqué de llevarla a cabo desde la
importancia que tiene para la enseñanza en las carreras del área de la salud,
específicamente en la de Enfermería, en donde la función tutorial competente es
relevante en los procesos de práctica clínica.
Posteriormente, en un tercer capítulo, se presenta la metodología y el plan de trabajo
que aplica un enfoque cuantitativo y un estudio trasversal. El procesamiento de los
datos se realizó con un sistema estadístico SPSS para Windows. El instrumento
utilizado fue un cuestionario con sesenta preguntas, previamente validado por
expertos; el instrumento fue respondido por los estudiantes los cuales plasmaron su
percepción sobre el dominio de competencias por parte de sus tutores clínicos. La
población de estudio se centra en veinticinco tutores de campos clínicos de
complejidad hospitalaria y comunitaria. Conjuntamente se realiza una entrevista breve
a los tutores para recolectar la información de las restantes variables base del estudio.
En el cuarto capítulo, se efectúa un análisis e interpretación de los resultados recogidos en los instrumentos aplicados. A la vez, este capítulo se divide en tres
partes, correspondientes a las dimensiones de: conocimiento, habilidades y actitudes
mediante la valoración de los estudiantes de los ítems contenidos en el instrumento y a
la información entregada por los tutores en la entrevista.
En el quinto capítulo, se realiza una discusión de los resultados obtenidos en otras
investigaciones afines contrastados con la presente investigación, las conclusiones
finales que proporcionan una información relevante en lo que respecta a como se da
una percepción más o menos favorable por parte de los alumnos sobre el dominio de
los tutores clínicos de la Universidad Nacional Andrés Bello, sede Concepción de las
dimensiones que favorecen los desempeños competentes, no sólo en la labor docente
sino también en la formación de profesionales competentes que sean un real aporte a
la sociedad. Además de determinar la relación entre las variables percibidas por los
estudiantes de enfermería respecto de las variables de base que caracterizan a sus
tutores clínicos. Se evidencia la existencia de una relación significativa entre el dominio
de los conocimientos, habilidades y actitudes, que a su vez se aprecia como más
significativo en aquellos tutores que tienen más experiencia en el desempeño de su
labor como docente clínico que en los que presentan algún tipo de perfeccionamiento
en docencia.
The present research, consists of six chapters, being the bibliography as the final chapter. The first chapter begins with the general appraisal of skills shown by the tutors of clinical practice who belong to the Nursing Career of the Universidad Nacional Andrés Bello, central Concepción (UNAB). The general presentation of the topic is done according to the perception of fifth graders as to the competence of those engaged in their teaching. Furthermore the questions that motivate this study are established, also the purposes and objectives of the research ( Knowledge, skills and attitudes ): the corresponding variables defined from the conceptual and operational point of view are thus established, among other research hypothesis, the correlation between the perception of students about their teachers` skills (evaluated in three dimensions previously established), and also variables such as years of experience as a clinical tutor, the presence and type of improvement in teaching and complexity of clinical practice in sites such as tutorial practice center in performing their professional activity and teaching. Then, in the second chapter, the theoretical framework in which the contextualization of the research is done and the reasons to carry it out from the importance of teaching to careers in the health area, specifically Nursing, where the competent tutorial role in the process of clinical practice is very important. In the third chapter, the methodology and working plan that applies a quantitative approach and a cross-sectional study, the data processing was performed with SPSS for Windows. The instrument used was a questionnaire with sixty questions, previously validated by experts. The instrument was answered by students who settled down their perception of mastery on competencies used by their clinical tutors. The study focuses on twenty-seven tutors of clinical fields belonging to health –and- community centers attached to hospitals brief interview. This brief interview to tutors collects information from the remaining basis of the study variables. In the fourth chapter a consecutively analysis and interpretation of the results of the applied instruments is performed. This fourth chapter is divided into three parts, corresponding to the dimensions of knowledge, skills and attitudes by assessing students criteria of the items contained in the instrument and the information delivered by tutors in the interview. In the fifth chapter a discussion is held of the results obtained in other related researches and contrasted with the present investigation. It is concluded that it provides relevant information regarding to a more or less favorable perception is given by the students on the command shown by their clinical tutors of the Universidad Nacional Andrés Bello (UNAB) Concepción on the dimensions that favor the performances of competences, not only in teaching but also in training competent professionals who should be a real contribution to society.
