dc.description.abstractIn response to the fact that many teachers use homework as a strategy to train their students, we decided to investigate if assignments have an impact on students' English language leaming. Two perspectives were considered in the present research: students' and teachers' perception about homework and the impact of doing homework on the students' reading skills. Toe sarnple considered teachers from the three types of school administrations located in the fifth region in Chile and students in 61h and glh grade in elementary school. dc.description.abstractEn respuesta al hecho de que muchos profesores usan la tarea como una estrategia para enseñar a sus estudiantes, nosotros decidimos investigar si las tareas tienen un impacto en el aprendizaje del idioma Inglés. Dos perspectivas fueron consideradas en la presente investigación: la percepción de los estudiantes y profesores acerca de la tarea y el impacto de hacer la tarea en la habilidad lectora de los estudiantes. La muestra consideró profesores de los tres distintos tipos de colegio localizados en la quinta región en Chile y estudiantes de 6to y 8vo año básico.es
