siguientes; grupo 1 control Colgate 12 Horas : LlE:19,9138, grupo 2 Pepsodent White
Now: LlE 23,0517, grupo 3 FKD blanqueador progresivo Kin
LlE 21, 1579 y grupo 4 Colgate Luminous White: LlE 26,6341
whitening toothpastes manufacture has increased because of the aesthetic demand of patients. The market offers a wide range of them, but their effectiveness is not proven . The purpose of this study is to evaluate , in vitro , the effectiveness in removing extrinsic stains in bovina enamel, and to analyze and compare the compositions of the whitening toothpastes. Materials and methods : The present work is an in vitro experimental study . 20 bovina teeth were first photographed with digital camera , then immersed in black tea solution for 6 days . To assess the degree of staining of enamel.another photographed was taken to each sample. Subsequently were randomly distributed in 4 experimental groups of 5 specimens according to toothpaste applied The groups were: G1 Control : brushed with Colgate 12 hours; G2 brushed with Pepsodent White Now ; G3 FKD brushed with Kin Progressive Whitening Toothpaste and G4 brushed with Colgate Luminous White . After brushing , the samples were again photographed. Photos were digitally analyzed to obtain the values of the RGB color system , which later were translated into CIE Lab color system to read into this values of total color differences (LlE) at different stages of the experiment. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and TUKEY test . Results : The average color difference from stained to brushed were as follows group 1 Colgate Control 12 Hours LlE: 19.9138, Group 2 Pepsodent White Now: LlE 23.0517 , Group 3 Kin FKD progressive Whitening LlE 21.1579 and Group 4 Colgate Luminous White : LlE 26.6341 Conclusions : AII groups had no statistically significant color difference (LlE) from stained to brushing. There were no difference between the performance of whitening toothpastes , and nor between them and control toothpaste.
