This research seminar has a qualitative nature, and its objective is to know the perception that the persons who care for the Elderly have in relation to the overload in their routines, and the constant modification of their roles, therefore, through the stories of the people who were interviewed it is possible to analyze what their daily lives are like since they begin to exercise the role of caregivers and how they structure and organize their activities. It is important to know these perceptions, because, if the routines don’t present an adequate balance between each occupation, it can cause a very significant impact in the occupational balance and in the quality of the life of these persons, which are areas were occupational therapy can contribute significantly. For this, the methodological design that was used was descriptive kind with an exploratory research scope, which will help us to cover various aspects that are present in the research. In addition, this seminar was held with the purpose of expanding the field of research in this area from the discipline of Occupational Therapy in order to show how it is possible to intervene and improve the quality of life of the people they care for, because, Despite the fact that there are various investigations in relation to the overload of caregivers, the perceptions, experiences and stories narrated by the protagonists themselves are left aside.
