candidatos a cirugĆa refractiva LASIK.
Every year throughout the world, 3.5 million LASIK refractive surgenes are carried out in order to correct myopia, hypermetropy and astigmatism. Adequate choice of the candidate patient is fundamental for its performance, for which a diagnosis provided by new technology and the ophthalmologist's guidance concerning the clinical features of the visual structure and function is necessary. In this regard, NIDEK's OPD-Scan AR.K-10000 multifunction computerized equipment is a crucial technological instrument. The OPD-Scan is a multifunction diagnosis equipment for measuring aberrometry, comeal topography, autorefractometry, keratometry, pupillometry; it also provides information on the wave front analysis. Proposing and describing the OPD-Scan ARK 10000 equipment printing format was the goal of this unit research, in view to pro vide the ophthalmologist doctor with an efficient use of the technological tool on assessing patients candidates to a LASIK refractive surgery. This study was carried out nationally in different hospitals, ophthalmological Centers and Clinics provided with the OPD-Scan Ark 10000. Visits were payed to several premises and ophthalmologists physicians and physician technologists will be asked to answer surveys. Furthermore, bibliography was reviewed in order to get to know the current state of the art on the subject. The survey' s outcome showed a clear preference for certain maps, graphs and functions co-related to the information derived from the bibliographical review. Thus, allowing to create a standardizing proposal for the delivery ofthe information provided by the VOPD - Sean ARK 10000. This proposal includes the following maps: axial, refractive, OPD, intemal OPD, higher-order front and the RMS Zemike graph, providing the medical ophthalmologist with accurate information on the pre-operatory assessment of patients candidates to LASIK refractive surgery.
