Objective: To compare the understanding of the early management protocol for dentoalveolar trauma (DAT) generated by the poster from the Faculty of Dentistry of the Universidad Andrés Bello (UNAB) and the one approved by the International Association of Dental Traumatology (IADT). Methods: It was used a study group composed of adults over 18 years old that have children under their responsibility between 0 - 17 years old, who lives in RM during the year 2022. For this, two questionnaires were created to evaluate the understanding of the information for each poster, the measured information was a quasi-experimental quantitative type with a control group. The sample consisted of a total of 118 people separated in two groups of fifty-nine each. Results: The results of both surveys were analyzed to be able to compare them, obtaining in both questionnaires improvements in the responses of the participants between before and after viewing the poster, but the UNAB poster have better learning results with an average of 2.5 versus the IADT poster with a mean of 0.5. On the other hand, the participants were asked to choose which poster they preferred and the UNAB poster in both questionnaires obtained >70% preference with respect to the IADT poster. Conclusions: Dentoalveolar traumas are events that occur very frequently in pediatric patients, being the second cause of visits to the dentist after dental caries, and unfortunately, they are usually very traumatic for the patient and the parents or tutors. We can conclude that the poster made by the Andrés Bello University is the one that best delivered the information on the action protocol against an ADD, validating our hypothesis.
